If you're rinsing fruit or vegetables or draining cooked pasta, use just the colander insert on its own. If you need to soak or hydrate foods like grains or legumes prior to cooking, use the colander insert with the bowl to suspend the food in water, and place lid on top for freshness. Use the bowl and lid together for an air-tight food storage solution or for prepping ingredients ahead of mealtime. And finally, there's one more feature that'll wow you: All three pieces can be used together in the microwave to steam-cook foods, locking in moisture and nutrients. The set is made of BPA-free, Melamine-free thermoplastic and is both microwave and dishwasher safe.
